Early Dinner Over City View at ATIZ Wine & Dine.

Just recently, I was invited to, apparently, a hidden gem in the west of Jakarta. As you know it, West Jakarta tends to be well-known as an under-developed area. Except for the famous malls, there are only a few notable neighbourhood or restaurants to visit.

Under this assumption, I initially hesitated to visit this place, named Atiz Wine and Dine, which is located on the 12th floor of BFashion Hotel. Have you heard about BFashion Hotel? I had not, until this invititation came to me. With no expectation, we visited this unknown place, and ended up standing in a lift, heading towards the 12th.

BFashion Hotel is a medium-sized hotel building and nothing was significantly notable from the outside. We just reckoned that the location seemed to be quite strategic, located very near to two infamous mall, Mall Taman Anggrek and Central Park, thus served quite nicely as a business hotel, and even family hotel for the people from outside of Jakarta. Knowing so less, we was dumb-founded when the lift opened its door, and as we stepped outside, we saw a small heaven with a beautiful city view on the inside. The atmosphere was quite different than what we dared to think, and there was this chill temperature that calmed the mind. We didn’t see it coming.

As we were greeted, we then met Mr. Daniel and were seated where we pleased.

There are two areas to choose, the indoor and the outdoor area. We are non-smokers, thus we decided to dine in inside, with air con. And gorgeous city view.

The interior is quite pretty, neatly-arranged and somehow, classy. The tables are quite limited inside, with only about two long tables, and one private area where business meeting can be held. There are more tables for two though, as to indicate that the place could somehow be a perfect place for romantic lunch or dinner. Oh, though worry not, there are plenty of tables with more seats too in the outdoor area. I just think it’s wise to reserve first if you wish to come here, to avoid disappointment.

After some introduction, we eventually knew that this fine place is here for only about two months, or less. The concept was carefully thought, with a strong basic foundation as to bring something from the “south” to the “west”.
To be honest, no other place is quite like this in West Jakarta, or at least, not that we are aware of.

Here is the city view. Sitting by the window in an air con area, chilling with a glass of wine or cocktail/mocktail. What could be better?

Let’s see what we had here for dinner.

# Retro Candy (IDR 50k)

From the mocktail section, I had myself a chilling glass of crushed fruits. This glass of party refreshment consists of lime, lychee, orange chunks, and orange peels. Despite its pretty face, its taste was fragrant but light in nature. I kinda of get why they named it Retro Candy.

# Humphrey Ball Shakes – Cookies and Cream (IDR 70k)

This glass of cookies and cream with a CRONUT on top was a bomb. The cookies and cream smoothie was sexy, especially with a cronut. It’s a luscious sinful drink for sure, well, in a form of calorie fest!

# Passion Crush (IDR 100k)

I don’t drink alcohol, so I left it out. But my partner said that it’s even better than the Red Rock though. I found it’s very pretty too!

# Carrot & Apple Soup (IDR 60k)

Okay, you might have frowned by now and reread about this. Carrot and apple? Am I talking about juice? Nope. Soup it is. See the picture above? It’s a cute presentation, but let me tell you that the presentation is for photo-shooting purposes only. The real presentation will be on a bowl.

Despite its presentation, there’s more to its taste. At first sip, yeah, it definitely tasted weird, it should be juice! Second sip, still weird, but, um.. in a good way. Third sip, I nodded and accepted the identity of this dish, it is soup! The whole carrot cut and dried apple are edible too, and they bring some added texture to emphasize on its identity.

# Beef Agnolotti (IDR 100k)

This tasted very good. The tomato broth resembled more like soup and it tasted refreshingly acidic and slightly sweet. There was a hint of truffle oil here and there, and to combine it with the main show, the taste was delish! The braised beef inside the agnolotti was really really good.

Let me warn you though, the dish in the picture is for tasting, so the presentation was slightly different and it was adjusted to a smaller portion. Originally, the portion will be more than this. Afterall, Atiz Wine and Dine emphasizes in their generous portion of nearly everything.

# Signature Baked Tasmanian Salmon (IDR 180k)

Salmon never fails. It might seem casually ordinary, but this salmon did taste big, with plenty of elements to highlight.

First, the presentation is pretty, with colorful ingredients to attract the eyes. From the eyes to the tongue. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and it tasted just right. I loved how it was blended with the whole fresh ingredients from the baby carrot, mashed beetroot, poached yellow potato, celery, cauliflower, mixed beans and sweet-ish mussels cream with some real mussels. Aside from the salmon, the other notable part is the mashed beetroot, which was not just eye-catching, but also smooth and just tasty.
This dish is what I called a feast for the eye and the belly.

# Lamb Chop (IDR 180k)

The usual suspect. When we talk about lamb, if cooked right, will undoubtedly taste superb. Here, their medium roasted lamb chop was delish as well. Not the best I’ve tasted, but good enough. The creamy spinach, mashed potato and roasted veggie were heart-warming companions. Portion-wise, it was humongous. I was so full at this point but still managed to eat up the whole chop. Or, maybe I was just hungry. 😉

# Praline Crunch (IDR 95k)

As a starter in a closure, we had this pretty stuff. I am never a big fan of mango and passion fruit, but this is another story. A combo of passion fruit and mango with praline crunch, this dessert turned to a tropical paradise on a plate. It tasted sweet, sour-ish, fresh, and amazingly fragrant. With extra scoop of strawberry ice cream, the party was set! The only thing we needed was music. Shall we dance?

# Nutella Parfait (IDR 110k)

Nutella mousse and soft chocolate cake with pistachio crust, kiwi slices at the bottom, and caramelized strawberry. A true closure of the day. This is my kind of desserts, where it contains chocolate, nutella, fruits, nutella, pistachio, and much nutella. Oh, did I mention nutella? 😛 No further explanation is needed. Major mouthgasm!

# Chicken Wings (IDR 75k) w/ red dabu dabu chili salsa

For additional goodness, we also had this exotic from the bites section. And hell this is one fine chicken wing to munch on. The crispy layer on the outside was really good and crunchy, with subtle seasoning. The extra kick came in the form of red dabu dabu chili, and it made these chicken wings so strangely good, so addictive! Crispy, spicy, and fresh.

All in all, I was actually very pleased with all the food here. Some are good, some are exceptional. To add more plus points, I found the prices they set are decent and though in mid to high range, it’s relatively reasonable. The portion of each dish was generously fair enough, because unlike the usual fine dining restaurants that serve tiny portions, Atiz considers the appropriate value in every dish.

Do give this place a try. And do know that this restaurant is not exactly related to the hotel itself. The image this hotel has already had, does not affect the restaurant. Feel free to dine in and enjoy what Atiz Wine and Dine has to offer.

Pssst.. Atiz is on progress in serving its guests with lots of wine collections. There should be around 200 kinds of alcohol drinks that you can choose from. After all, they’re specialising in wine too and hope to serve its guests with delectable choices of wine in companion to the lovely food. 🙂

Tips. According to us, Atiz Wine & Dine might be best visited from 3 PM to 8 PM.

Something funny from the gents bathroom. 😉
