Oh,I love Bariuma Ramen’s ramen, but well, what about the Abura Soba?

I’m a big fan of Abura Soba and if your read my posts on my blog or Instagram, you should know that my heart is held captive by one specific restaurant (Abura Soba specialist). But this doesn’t make me close my heart for another restaurant. In fact, I’m in thorough search of other Abura Soba specialists in hope to get my heart back.

Well, Bariuma Ramen offers 4 choices of Abura Soba. The unique part is that their Abura Soba is adopted from Hiroshima, unlike others which normally adopt the Tokyo’s Abura Soba. Barium Ramen calls it Torotama Abura Soba. This is a seasonal menu for the year end.

Without much knowledge of original Japanese cuisine, I might say that the difference from what I usually have and the one by Bariuma Ramen is with their type of noodles. Apart from that, the use of vinegar doesn’t apply here. The sauce or basic condiments have been added inside the bowl.

The Abura Soba is consisted of some important key parts, and apart from the soba, it has “torotama” shimmering egg, kauri (Japanese cucumber), “shiraga negi” or white spring onion, nori (seaweed) and homemade pork or chicken chasiu.

Pork and Chicken are always served separately in Bariuma Ramen. Pork dishes are served in red bowls and red chopsticks & spoons. For me, this Abura Soba is pretty unique. It relies more on the freshness of the ingredients. The pork chasiu was pretty good and with their perfectly cooked shimmering egg, the Abura Soba tasted all creamy.

The Chicken Abura Soba was pretty much the same but unlike the pork counterpart, it had this lighter flavour.

Much similar to the Torotama Abura Soba, this bowl is different just because it’s hot and spicy. For me, the hot sauce added more layers to the Abura Soba, creating this spicy kick which complemented well with the freshness of the Abura Soba.

For who love chicken (and can stand the heat), this would be a great choice.

These selections above are available until 31st December 2016.

Oh, their Chicken Gyoza (IDR 39 k) was really good! After a change of the recipe, I think it did improve, and it’s much better than the previous recipe.
