[Travel Short Story] A Sneak Peak of Di Mare. Bali.

THIS IS NOT A REVIEW.

As I haven’t dined in at di Mare, I couldn’t call this a review. This is just a sharing section, where I want to share the beauty of what I saw during my trip in June 2012. One of it was the visit to the beautiful di Mare, Karma Kandara.

It was located quite far through the narrow pathway in Ungasan. After about 20 minutes relaxing ride, passing green views, several turns and eventually reached to a safe heaven, we could not believe what we had seen.

It was our first time being here, and we didn’t know what to expect. As far as we knew, the name of Karma Kandara was all words for beauty and amazement. Then we knew why.

A casual walk inside, we first met an area of colours, and blue sky, and shades and oh, superb beauty of the Indian Ocean. Yes, everything here was like a sip of paradise. It was a long ride to this place, and it just paid off! There was a certain kind of satisfaction, as if we had climbed and reached the top of a mountain. Well, quite close though, in this case, it was a dining place perching up 85 meters above the sea.

See the amazing views! It was even more amazing seeing it live and listening to the sound of waves and breeze.

And here’s the beautiful dining place, di Mare. With all white interior and semi-circular dining room, it has this posh feel and yet, casual atmosphere where patrons can just enjoy their food, laugh, chitchat with friends, family and just have a real good day forgetting all the busy routines. Patrons can even soak themselves, to refresh their body in the pool with mind-blowing scenery.

If you don’t wish to just have lunch while enjoying the views, you might love another alternative, dining in at Nammos Beach Club down there. It was recently named amongst the ‘World’s 50 Best Beach Bars’ by CNN Travel. 🙂 To reach there, you have to pay IDR 250 k first and with that, you will get a two-way lift service (extra the gorgeous view along the way). In addition, you also get a dining voucher of IDR 150 k which you can use at Nammos for the fancy food or cocktails. Lovely, ain’t it?

This is Nammos. 😉 (the picture was taken on my trip in November 2012)

Nammos Bali

Unfortunately, I haven’t got any chance of dining in at Nammos. So, no review can be done for either di Mare or Nammos. But we did visit the neighbouring beach club, Finn’s Beach (will review soon). For you who have a ‘thing’ with beaches, do come and visit this beautiful place! I really think you should list it down on your list of ‘must-visit’ places. Honestly, the beauty of the blue-ish green Indian Ocean expanding through the horizon, and featuring the clear blue sky is just so amazing it couldn’t be described with mere words. You just have to see it yourself and you’ll understand. 🙂

Friendly tips for you if you plan to visit this place:
+ If you are travelling in small groups, rent a bike and find your way to this place. The journey to get to this place will open your eyes. Taxi will only cost you more money and cause less fun.
+ Don’t forget to use the GPS application on your freaking modern mobile phone. It will save you less troubles in finding this place. Don’t forget to have it fully-charged. 🙂
+ Bring camera to capture the beauty of the scenery. (or use your phone’s camera, at least)
+ To avoid disappointment of not being able to enter di Mare or Nammos, do call first and ask them whether it is open for public or not. Sometimes, it can be chartered for private parties and will be closed for public.
+ Bring sun block! 😀
