Who doesn’t love Singapore? I do! I mean, it’s like the easiest foreign country to access in Jakarta. In addition, flight rates are often very cheap and many airlines are offering various promotion for that certain destination. Besides, shopping in Singapore sounds like so much fun! Me? I prefer to go there for a good stroll and find some delicious food!

Though my last visit to Singapore is a few months ago, I feel the need to share my experience. Especially the hotel I was staying (even though I have actually posted the press release a in January this year)!

I was staying at Jen Tanglin Singapore, which is previously Traders Hotel Singapore. The official reopening of Hotel Jen Tanglin is on 4th January. Hotel Jen itself has undergone a very expensive makeover to ensure a significant and positive transition from Traders Hotel Singapore. With all those renovations, Jen Tanglin Singapore is now more fun, modern and contemporary. See the photos for yourself.

Jen Tanglin Singapore has a total of 565 rooms, and each and every room has been magically made into a chic and vibrant room (which will also reflect the youthful spirit of Singapore) fully equipped with free high speed wifi connection, USB charger outlets, high pressure walk-in shower, and a king-sized “floating” bed with 300-thread count linen. Oh, the wallpaper designs are all highlighting the infamous Singapore theme, revolving around bicycle, orchid, goldfish, and shop house. To be honest, the concept of the hotel is everything that suits the new generation of travellers, or wait, new JENeration! 😉

The Club Room we were staying for those 2 nights was absolutely delightful. The chic yet functional design suited our needs like no others. Knowing the necessities of youngsters and business travellers, Jen Tanglin Singapore does a fine job in putting important details in each corner. Oh, not to mention the great view overlooking the pool area and the humble neighbourhood. Unfortunately, we requested a twin bed room, so we missed the chance to see the “floating” bed, which I am sure is absolutely fantastic. Regardless, we experienced absolute comfort in laying on the cozy bed for a sweet dream (after a long tiring BUT happy day in Singapore).

When in morning, the room is even nicer, with good natural day lighting going through the big window.

Oh, breakfast was divine. We ate a lot because they had extensive selections, from Indian food, Chinese food, to American choices. For health-concious guests, the restaurant has it covered with fresh salad bar, pastry station and good healthy desserts such as overnight oats and yogurts!

Pool! I love swimming pools in all hotels. Jen Tanglin provides a great pool too, and the vibe was great.

Oh, did I mention that the location of this hotel is quite strategic?
Why?
– Jen Tanglin is only a 25-minute drive from Changi Airport and it is accessible via taxi, bus, subway (MRT) and hotel limousine. But my preferred method is always via MRT. I mean, you can always see the busy city sight before getting to your destination with MRT. That if time allows.
– Jen Tanglin is connected to Tanglin Mall, which has many shops, cafes and restaurants.
– Camden Medical Centre and Gleneagles Hospital is just a three-minute walk away.
– If you don’t feel like walking to Orchard Road, a free shuttle service is provided. Weekday morning shuttle service to Central Business District is also available.
