Just about last week, I went to Monty’s Jakarta and had a taste of one good European lunch.
Anyway, to begin this post, I should probably tell you how much I love the interior of this place. The exclusivity and the elegance speak its vibe. The way they arranged the plating and wine glass made me squinted my eyes and felt, hm, good! Not to mention they way they arranged plants carefully around the place and made it blended well with the surrounding.
But well, they don’t just sell ambiance you know. They serve great lunch too, and they have included some Octoberfest menu too to please customers with something bolder, and perhaps, different.
Let’s start with the drinks. Nothing much to say well, they served good drinks.

# Whole Chili Roasted Cauliflower (IDR 90k)
I know, lately cauliflower has been a thing. It might be a trend or something, but I am sure it’s healthy. But healthy can be good too, and Monty’s proved it with their brain-look-alike surprise. I really thought that this was their halloween menu, but apparently no, it is their regular menu. You can find it anytime you want here at Monty’s.
The taste was good suprisingly. And it didn’t really taste like vegetables! The way they roasted it, made it had a very crunchy texture. The chili, parsley pesto, truffle mayo and pomegranate mixed well with the cauliflower and made it unique and showered with flavours.
# Champagne & Sea Scallop Angel Hair (IDR 295k)
Talking about angel hair and scallops, this pasta was great! The scallops were as fresh as they could be and the champagne was complementing the whole dish well.
# On The Bone Lamb Chop 250gr (IDR 265k)
One of the highlighted menu of the day. Everybody seems to love lamb chop and somehow, it is quite tricky to cook a delicious well-deserving lamb chop. Monty’s didn’t fail and the lamb chop turned out delicious. The lamb was quite tender. Oh, if you order this, you can also choose the sauce to accompany the lamb chop, from classic bernaise sauce, whisky-bbq sauce, jalapeno chimichurri, smoky chipotle butter, etc.
# Grilled Pork Belly, Whole Grain Mustard & Sauerkraut (IDR 195k)
This was the best amongst all for me. The chunk of pork belly was generous in size and grilled to perfection. The texture was moist, juicy and succulent. Slicing it needed no effort. The whole grain mustard helped in adding a little bit of spiciness! This pork belly was totally the winner of all.
# White Valrhona Chocolate & Banana “Mess” (IDR 95k)
There’s always the need to close the meal with something sweet, and Monty’s knows for sure what its guests’ need. This time we got to enjoy White Valrhona Chocolate & Banana “Mess”, a complete feast to both the eyes and tongue. Monty’s certainly knows how to give a performance, because this “Mess” is created by dropping the white chocolate sphere from approximately 40cm height. After the ball-dropping (sounds just like New Year countdown at Times Square!), the toffee sauce is poured all around the “shattered earth” (I can’t help being dramatic :P). After trying, we certainly thought that this sweet closure was super good, especially when the messy mousse, crusts, banana and toffee sauce melted in the mouth.
Our meal was close to perfect. Everything went well, and I enjoyed every aspect of Monty’s. My sister who accompanied me, did mention how good the food and place were.
Anyway, Monty’s is apparently, pretty dynamic when it comes to customers’ satisfaction. Monty’s holds seasonal theme almost every month. The goal is to spoil customers with different palate, and make them enjoy the whole experience during dining in Monty’s.
For drink-lovers, the options of drinks from cocktails, whisky, champagne to wines are endless! They have a lot of rare collections and they do serve in glass too! Not every place does that, right?
I guess you just have to visit Monty’s by yourself to understand the real experience. All the things I explained here is purely based on my experience, but really, I can’t just hide how much love I put into writing about Monty’s.
