Mintly-Opened Muju Avenue with Healthy Goodness.

I’m super happy to have found a precious gem in Artha Gading Mall and its name is Muju Avenue.

It’s located next to Choco Corner in Artha Gading Mall, and Muju is definitely fresh-looking. For the seating area, it has both indoor and outdoor area. Interior-wise, there are several corners that are really instagenic. Like the picture below that screams summer.

There are plenty of drawings on the walls, and it brightens up the mood well. It’s surprising to know that the one of the owners, Christa Hardjono, came up with the idea by herself. <3

Obviously an ‘infant’ (Muju Avenue is literally about 3 weeks old per now), Muju Avenue is not to be underlooked. The owners of Muju Avenue dedicated themselves well towards serving people hearty healthy food.

If you’re worried about the taste (since the food is mostly healthy), don’t worry, the minds behind Muju Avenue knows what they’re doing. That’s one of the many reasons, Muju Avenue didn’t go to the purist direction where everything is simply all veggie & no meat. On the other hand, Muju Avenue actually curated food carefully, focusing its mains with fish and poultry selections (going to the lean side of the meats) and balanced them with good quality and healthy ingredients.

Take one example, their obvious champ – Sunny California Avocado Rice (IDR 65 k) – that is consisted of salmon, cucumber, seaweed, furikake, housemade mayo and creamy avocado on top of the brown rice.
The result is a blasting flavour, which if broken down, I could taste the sea flavour from the salmon, savoury hint & saltiness from the seaweed, and subtle sweetness from the avocado. Texture-wise, it is also amazing. Creamy avocado, ‘crunchy’ cucumber, seaweed & furikake crumbs and brown rice are texture ‘marriage’ goal. Delicate salmon chunks are really the cherry on top.

IN SHORT, THIS IS MY MOST FAVORITE & A MUST-TRY MENU.

Let’s check out some other menus.

# Green Horizon Smoothie Bowl (IDR 55 k)
First thing in mind about healthy food is smoothie bowl. Does Muju Avenue sell smoothie bowls? The answer is yasss!

This is one of the selections and this wasn’t disappointing AT ALL. The green colour is from Kale. You dislike Kale? No worry, this green smoothie base isn’t all kale. It’s a combination of kale, banana, pear, peanut butter & milk. It tasted really good and the peanut butter stood out. Plus, the colorful toppings were sweetening up the base and they added some necessary textures.

# Serena & Blair’s Kale (IDR 42 k)

Kale Salad might look boring but well, it actually tasted more interesting than its look. I tried it and loved this so much. Why? The kale had crunchy-ish texture, which was lovely when chewed, and when enjoyed with cherry tomato, quinoa and the fragrant sesame dressing, there were complex sensation that sparked sweetness, acidity and addictive nutty sesame flavour. Oh, please don’t expect any mayo. I meant you can ask, but it will ruin the beauty of the Kale Salad as it is.

# Thyme Square Roast Chicken (IDR 65 k)

This menu is amongst the best-sellers here. It’s a portion of fragrant over-roasted boneless chicken on top of buttery mashed potatoes. There’s a strong hint of garlic & thymes and those two added alluring (yet simple) aroma to the whole dish. No wonder it’s a best-seller in Muju Avenue.

# Cappuccino (IDR 30 k) & Iced Peach Tea (IDR 25 k)
Muju Avenue - Mal Artha Gading

We tried both of these drinks. Iced Peach Tea contained real peach slices and was decent, but the Cappuccino was pretty good. It actually suited my taste because of the balance sweetness and bitterness. They were using Sumatra Mandheling coffee beans.

# Black Gypsy (IDR 35 k)
Muju Avenue - Mal Artha Gading
The newest menu in the cold-pressed juice section is Black Gypsy, a black-colored concoction. It’s made of lemon, honey and activated-charcoal. I tasted a bit of either rosemary or lavender, but I couldn’t tell. To simplify, this Black Gypsy tasted like a fragrant lemonade. Laf!

To conclude the visit, I felt really satisfied with the whole food and drinks. Everything was from good to great and the healthy side of every dish was comforting for me. Somehow, I felt like when eating, there was a strong homey characteristic to every menu that I tried.
Price-wise, most dishes and drinks are priced reasonably. Especially considering that they use high quality ingredients. You get what you paid for.

I strongly recommend you to come here if you love a healthier option that doesn’t compromise with its taste. Oh, especially here in Artha Gading Mall, I don’t think any restaurants/cafes can beat Muju Avenue at the moment.

Personal Recommendations: EVERY FOOD ON THE ABOVE. AND BLACK GYPSY.
