Publik Markette challenges itself with an awesome Balinese Culinary Delight theme!

One of the greatest things that Publik Markette itself is proud of, is the passion in bringing different culinary scene to the crowd. Previously, Publik Markette held an Italian theme and showcased its worth with delicious Italian cuisine for a period of two weeks. Just this late April, Publik Markette started a Balinese theme with the help of a brilliant guest chef, I Made Yoga Putra. I Made Yoga Putra is the head chef of Kitchenette in Bali, and since he is originally a Balinese, high expectation was instantly there. In the end, *spoiler alert* he really delivered all he got and I loved it!

What to expect from Publik Markette’s Balinese cuisine?
Well, a lot actually. The menu does change from day and night. When I was there, the highlight menu that had me at first sight was the Pork Ribs. The sate lilit was a temptation too. Other than those, there were Pepes Ikan Laut, and Balinese Grilled Chicken. Oh, besides the food, they also have Balinese cocktails, which I believe would be lovely for those who fancy some delightful drinks.

How long does Publik Markette hold this theme for patrons?
Three weeks since 22 April 2016. Usually, the seasonal theme only lasts for two weeks. Since Balinese cuisine is our local cuisine, yet very popular, Publik Markette gives it a longer time so loyal patrons could show much love.

Okay, let’s just head to the main show.

# Balinese Pork Ribs Bumbu Guling (IDR 165k)
Publik Markette - Balinese Pork Ribs
When Balinese cuisine is said, pork will easily come to my mind. Well, especially Babi Guling (suckling pig). Unfortunately, I didn’t find any suckling pig. But don’t worry, this Pork Ribs would do just fine. The pork ribs was amazingly tender, almost too easy to fall off the bones. The meat was very fragrant, and the signature spices were really there and smartly spot on. To make it even more balinese, the crowd pleasing sambal matah (balinese signature chili condiment) and sayur urap (balinese signature vegetable) were present, and made the pork ribs even more sexy.

# Sate Lilit Seafood (IDR 60k)
Publik Markette - Sate Lilit Seafood
Another signature food is this beautiful sate lilit. The skewer is usually made from fish and is wrapped almost all around whole lemongrass, making it a sate. Here, the sate lilit didn’t disappoint as it was amazingly fragrant both from the meat and lemongrass. Of course, with extra sambal matah, the sate lilit will just leave you wanting for more. For a portion, you will get 3 skewers.

# Pepes Ikan Laut (IDR 80k)
Publik Markette - Pepes Ikan Laut
A seafood lover favourite. The main show of this dish is undoubtedly the Pepes Ikan Laut. Peeps Ikan Laut is more like a minced salt-water fish, mixed with some spices, and wrapped in banana leaves and steamed to perfection.

# Jimbaran Grilled Snapper (IDR 135k)
Publik Markette - Jimbaran Grilled Snapper
If you’re a first timer in travelling in Bali, the first thing you would probably do in Bali is having seafood in Jimbaran, by the beach. Well, since the seafood feast is extremely well-known there, it turns a particular dish into a signature Jimbaran dish, Jimbaran grilled fish (which usually uses soy sauce and spices to make it very spicy and fragrant). In this case, Publik Markette has a snapper. I didn’t have a taste of this, but by the look of it, it must be real good!

# Balinese Grilled Chicken

Of course, for those who dig chicken, they have Balinese grilled chicken!

Cocktail lovers can be happy with some of the delightful cocktails that are not only pretty, but scrumptious.

# Monsoon Wedding (IDR 125k)
St. Remy, Lychee, Red Wine, and Tropical Fruits.

I dunno about you, but the ingredients say it all, they sounds really sexy as fudge!

# Made’s Day Off (IDR 115 k)
Red Label, Amareto, Lime, Mango, Passion Fruit.
