During my last trip to Bali, I went to a wonderful well-known place, BVLGARI Hotels & Resorts. I went there of course not for a stay (it’s out of my league), but instead to relax at THE BAR. I had done my research, asked my friends who have visited there and so I just headed there with big curiosity and decided to have a ‘first hand’ experience anyway.
Finding BVLGARI was not that difficult since I was familiar with the place and had passed the sign board a couple of times when I visited Bali. When it comes to Bali, I always ventured out the small roads and hidden path, being all adventurous and hoped to bump into new hidden places. Finding the famous BVLGARI was kind of effortless.
We entered the resort got stopped twice. The security check was kinda strict, no questions why. After getting off from the car at the lobby, we were greeted by an usher who asked us about our destination. We were asked whether we made reservation or not, and we honestly said no but explained that when I called them the day before, the receiver end on the phone said that we could just come walking in. The male usher informed us that The Bar was closed at the moment due to a private event. Oh, we were so disappointed because we had even already confirmed by phone at first, let alone knowing our time in Bali was limited. The male usher went to check and apparently with our dismayed expression clearly seen, the other female usher came to us and listened to our explanation, then quickly checked via handy talky with another team, and decided to bring us in anyway. She asked us if we were okay if we had to sit at SANGKAR RESTAURANT. Well, we didn’t mind so we were guided to have a sit on the buggy cart and we were off to the designated spot, The Bar and Sangkar Restaurant.
The buggy ride was fun, mostly because it was quite bumpy, unexpectedly fast and also, we got to sightsee the BVLGARI environment. Okay, on the ride, I was so jealous by the guests that stayed here. The resorts area we passed by looked so peaceful and serene. People who love a peaceful stay in Bali (and rich!) can really choose to stay here.
After several minutes, we arrived safely and we were guided by another waiter to The Bar. Yes, we were given the seats at The Bar eventually. We clearly understood why we were denied access to The Bar initially. There was a private wedding ceremony which was held on the area between Sangkar Restaurant and The Bar. Oh, the wedding was amazing and this place couldn’t be any more perfect! Private, serene and just beautiful, with the ocean breeze and incredible view. It would be my choice for my wedding venue too if I wanted it to be private, family-only kind of wedding. 🙂
Anyway, that’s not my portion in discussing that matter. I would just like to share about the beautiful place and the scenes that I’d seen through my eyes.
Scenery of the resort from the lobby.
A shot of what we saw from our ride with the Buggy to THE BAR. Everything seemed so quiet, peaceful and natural.
After a short bumpy ride, we arrived at the front ‘porch’ of THE BAR & SANGKAR RESTAURANT
Welcome to a tiny version of paradise on Earth!
Oh, this was the buggy cart that took us to this wonderful spot.
THE BAR – BVLGARI
This is THE BAR, all busy because of the lovely wedding
The happy newly-wedded couples and the smiling happy guests. I couldn’t help but be jealous happy for them as well. 🙂
Back to our table just at the corner of the room, the ornaments looked cute and perfectly right for a place like this. They served chilled lemon-infused water too for us!
Welcome snacks on the house. Fun to chew!
From our seats, we could see IL RISTORANTE which was awarded the best hotel restaurant in the world by well-known relevant associations.
After ordering some drinks and cake, we went to have a little walk.
As we took the stairs down, we were simply amazed by the view. The greens, the vast blue ocean and height between the cliffs and the surface of raging clashing waves. We were standing so high above the sea and I just felt, happy. 🙂
On the left side, we could see a narrow pathway with green plants, bushes and trees, overlooking the cliff, waving its branches just to greet the passers-by.
The view was perfectlyincredible. And the clashing waves made good music to my ears.
On the right side, we could see a more well-appointed area, where I could just stay there, looking through the world with a sight like nothing else could hold a candle in comparison.
There is a marvellous pool above the falling water. It was continuously tempting and luring me to have a little dive but sadly, I didn’t bring any spare clothes, so…
THE BAR angle from below!
After a heavenly walk, I decided to get back to my table and enjoyed my drink.
# Strawberry Virgin Mojito (IDR 70 k) – lime, strawberry, mojito mint syrup, strawberry syrup, mint leaves, soda water
A recommendation by the kind waiter. Not disappointing at all. This mocktail was perfect for the day, with its sweet and refreshing sparkling sensation to quench my thirst. With the casual breeze like that, I could just sit all day with a glass of Strawberry Virgin Mojito in my hand.
# Coral Passion (IDR 70 k) – passion fruit, passion fruit syrup, pineapple juice, lemon juice, orange juice
Tropical mocktail for cheerful people. This drink was great but not as nice as the mojito. The combination of pineapple, passion fruit, lemon and orange made a perfect bright yellow colour. But taste-wise, it was a tad too sweet and I guess it was because of the syrup which made it overwhelming. If they could just lessen the syrup, the mocktail would have been superb.
# Traditional New York Cheese Cake (IDR 125 k) – with mixed berry compote
Cheese cake never fails me! And this traditional cheese cake was a real masterpiece. The cheese cake was super cute, even more gorgeous with pasta crunch and mixed berry compote on the top. The taste? It was over the top! The cheese cake tasted super cheesy with perfect salty-ish and sweet end and the mixed berry compote just made it way more endearing. The fresh-acidic compote wedded perfectly with this traditional cheese cake resulting in a very rare orgasmic cheese cake. Oh I miss the cheese cake right now!
The place was too pretty, so I took some pictures of my sis and post it here! *run* 😉
As time passed by, the dusk had reached its end and the night begun. The view was still as lovely as during the day. The dark sky added a more calming and elegant vibe to this place.
Looking at those chairs, I’d say I would just want to sit there with my dearest one, saying nothing but watching the vast oceans, and perhaps, just holding hands in silence.
Oh, the pool even looked beautiful at this kind of hours. The lights and nature seemed to blend so well, creating a tiny bit of paradise on the edge of this little earth.
After this, I’d just say that life is way too beautiful to be taken for granted. There’s so much to be seen, so much to be ventured and there is so many things to learn. I thoroughly understand that life is not just about this kind of moments. Life can be amazingly harsh it chokes you down to the hard ground. But you might want to look at it this way, that life has two sides. It’s like a wheel, which has the ups and the downs. It never completely fails you. It lets you see the two different sides, and it teaches you more than you could fathom. Therefore, enjoy life, like I enjoyed my quick visit in BVLGARI. I made this beautiful moment count, even just for a few hours. Then, I will go home, work hard, sometimes stumble and fall, sometimes encounter a big high hill to climb over, then I might cry and I might curse the world. But, I promise to myself, I will stand up, keep working hard, learn my best to climb over the obstacle and have fun at times. Then I get to travel again and learn new things and find other pieces of heaven. And I blog. 🙂
Anyway, foodventurers, just have fun! Travel a lot when you have the chance, k?
When you pay Bali a visit, take your time to come here. In BVLGARI, you might even get new inspiration when you need one.
Additional insight:
During this visit, we also encountered some thing unpleasant (no, not about BVLGARI at all). It’s something personal and something seemingly petty but important as a lesson. When travel with friends, we will somehow see their true nature, their behaviour and their way of thinking. This visit served as the revelation of our friends’ nature (and of course ours as well). By travelling together, you will learn to see them as they are, without the mask, all bare. The fact is not every thing we learn is going to be pleasant. But think of it as the silver lining, where you could understand your friends completely, and then decide to accept them as they are or take it as a lesson and step back, slowly. I believe not everybody can be as accepting and tolerant as others. So, this is just a moment of truth, the ugly truth. To sum up, I think that my sis and I learned a very important lesson, and this will serve as a guidance towards our future friendship with others. You may as well find an experience like this through travelling with friends. Try to see it the way we saw this. 🙂
Ciao. 🙂
