A Fresh Start. FlourFlour – Kenji Kawasaki.

Hi all, I’m back here. A lot of months ago, in 2013, something happened to my blog, and all data was lost. Since I was so busy with works (I admit that I am not very good in time management), I couldn’t even have time to grieve for what was lost. Then a few months later, I decided to start over, sadly. I tried hard to gain my motivation back, but I was losing my will whenever I stared at my empty blog.

So, okay. No worry. I am getting back on my feet now. And I will start fresh.

Enough of my story. What about food? =D

First post ever, I will start with a bakery, which I have been truly madly deeply (like a song) in love.

It’s “FlourFlour by Kenji Kawasaki“, a Japanese bakery which is located in Lotte Shopping Avenue Jakarta. LOVE is not the most often visited mall for me, considering the distance, but every time I dropped by, I went there to get a piece of lovely pastries or cakes. Why a piece, because generally, the delicacies they offer are quite pricey, though actually, it’s worth it!
If you love premium bread and cakes, I suggest you have a taste of their goods. This afternoon I had a brief visit, so I dropped by. Apparently, they were having quite a lot of buyers.

Here are what I bought.

Japanese Apple Pie (30k – exc. Tax)

I love apples It’s sweet, it’s sour, it’s savoury. I love how the tastes blended so well in my mouth. There were the crunchy layers on top. To simply put it, it rocked my taste bud so hard. I kept smiling while enjoying it. However, what was disappointing me a bit is the packaging for take-away. It was wrapped in a plain little oil paper bag.and I love pie. So since I love both, why don’t I have both at once. Here is the Japanese Apple Pie that looks like a regular apple pie, but tastes extraordinary.

Black Forest (25k – exc. Tax)

Looks sophisticated, but not exactly my type of beauty. The chocolates on top which looks like buds are quite a turn off, and I do not know why. However, I am so grateful they did not keep me away from buying one. So I took it home, and have a spoonful of it while enjoying “Catching Fire” (not a good movie-food match since in the movie, the people outside the Capitol actually suffer so much, it’s hard for them to have food. And I’m here having a cake). Well, it tasted… really good! It’s not like a traditional black forest. It’s mixing both the creamy layer and the spongy chocolate base. Though it’s a modern type of black forest, it still contains the typical element of cherry and rum, which was uh… sexy and seducing inside my mouth. To sum up, it’s very recommended!

I guess I should say that FlourFlour managed to end my evening very well. I was deliciously satisfied as I ended the life of the black forest without mercy. It felt so good, I guess I am going to have a happy sweet dream tonight.

FlourFlour is definitely a recommended bakery for you to have a try. The bread they offer is equally good too, but well, it’s only my two-cents. The prices are a bit premium for me, so I usually buy only one or two every visit (I have to be thrifty somehow =D). But again, the pastries and cakes are definitely worth the prices.

So, here is my first post. A fresh lovely Japanese Bakery for a fresh start. Hope to see you often foodventurers!
