Staycation at Four Points by Sheraton, Thamrin, Jakarta.

I posted my about Four Points by Sheraton, Thamrin Jakarta a few weeks ago. The post mostly contains official information about Four Points Jakarta. However, I actually had a staycation there myself and experienced a one night stay at the weekend. It was indeed a fun staycation!

The best thing I should highlight about Four Points by Sheraton, Thamrin is that the hotel’s location. The location is gold! How so? It is located in the heart of Jakarta, a big street in business district, and plus it is a location which is pretty close to all the awesome attractions. We could walk to Plaza Indonesia, a prestigious super shopping mall, within 5 minutes, and Grand Indonesia, another prestigious super shopping mall, within another 3 minutes. It was so much fun to stay so near to the malls. For shoppers, you can actually shop till drop, get back to the hotel and if you’d like, you can continue the shopping spree all day long.

Aside from that, tourists can actually visit the National Monument, Monas just by walking, or maybe take a short cab ride to make it easier. On Sunday, you can join the Car Free Day and jog/run/snack around.

Let’s talk about my stay.

After getting to the lobby, I was greeted by the front office staffs and also Marisa, the Marcomm Executive, and Mr. Mada Purbaya, the Operation Manager, with big and warm smile. We were quickly led to the guest lift again to see our room, Deluxe King with City View, located on the 11th floor. In-room check in was smooth sailing and Miss Dira was as professional as she could be.

Room looked amazing. They have fully furnished every corner of the room and magically turned it to a homey comfortable room. The King Bed was heavenly and the view was great with the building of Sarinah just right across our room!

The most important aspect of a hotel room for me is their bathroom. No, I don’t mean a big spacious bathroom where you can hide 5 big luggages or lay down to contemplate how good life has treated you. But it’s more about its clean and functional aspect. Four Points has a good one. The size is adequate and it’s thoroughly cleaned! I’ve no complaints at all.

Since we had plenty of time here, we decided to go to the nearest shopping centre, the prestigious Plaza Indonesia! It’s literally just a 5-min walk away. If you take a cab or a personal car, it take longer time since you have to go around the road to get there.

If Plaza Indonesia is not enough for you, Grand Indonesia is just across from Plaza Indonesia. Another 2-3 min walk, and you will reach there and have all the fun by shopping, cafe hopping or even window shopping.

After strolling around Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia, we walked to Bebek Bengil, a Balinese Restaurant and had our lunch there. It’s a 15 min walk from Four Points and well, walking in the heart of Jakarta was pure fun!

A glimpse of what we had at Bebek Bengil. You can check the short review about Bebek Bengil by clicking here.

In the evening, we had a good dinner at The Eatery. And I posted the experience right after this post. Or just click here to get to the post.

After a good dinner, what is a better way to spend the time? Beer! Well, I really don’t drink, but most people do! And Best Brews can accommodate you with local craft and artisan beer!

Oh, guests who want to stay at Four Points by Sheraton, Thamrin can actually pick a package of stay with beer sampling.

There were 4 local beers that we tried. Kuda Putih (which honestly I’d never heard of before), Bali Hai, Anker, and Anker Stout!
For me, they all tasted the same! And I’ll let you be the judge. 😀

The evening went by and without us knowing, we had a good and long night sleep. Like a baby! The heavenly king bed was to blame!

The next morning, we woke up early for breakfast and was pretty excited seeing the wide breakfast spread. For a four star hotel, the breakfast selections were more than expected. I meant, we had seen worse in other four star hotels!

The breakfast that we had included porridge and soto with many condiments (pulled chicken, boiled eggs, scallion, etc), salad, Nasi Lemak, fried noodles, chicken and fish, American selections (beef bacon, chicken sausage, potato, beans and choices of eggs), pastries, cereals and cakes.

For the drinks, we had 3 choices of juice, tea, milk, and coffee (including cappuccino!)

Having our breakfast with a view of the main road (Jl. Thamrin) was really pleasant.

For those who like to stay fit, Gym is located on the second floor. It’s quite small, but really functional. Plus, the equipments that they provide are from Life Fitness!

After breakfast, I went back to sleep! And check out was done at 12 PM.

The overall stay was lovely and we would definitely come back for another staycation!
