One of the best thing I’ve ever tasted in Bali is definitely the “Nasi Ayam” from Warung Nasi Ayam Ibu Oki. Thanks to the recommendation of the kind and humble Mas Bayu, the Epicurina‘s author (check the blog out by clicking here!), we got the chance to try the delicious (or divine!) balinese chicken rice.
We almost gave up visiting the place due to our tight schedule and very limited time. But since we planned to go to Nusa Dua that day (and we did by riding motorcycle via the new above-the-sea highway, yeay!), we browsed about Warung Ibu Oka and apparently (and gladly) it has an outlet around the area. We could steal some time to pay a brief visit there considering how close it is.
After having some stroll and fun at Nusa Dua, we went directly to the ‘warung’ by the assistance of Google Maps (not endorsing!) and more importantly, the friendly balinese people around the area. Well, after having a bit of getting-lost sort of moment, we eventually reached our destination!
It is actually a very humble house with clean environment. We could see the inside which was filled with hungry and enthusiastic patrons. We were hungry and enthusiast too! After all, the best food comes from this kind of humble place. No lovely ambiance, no wow service, and just a simple good and finger-licking tasty food! It’s all about the food.
# Nasi Ayam Bu Oki + Salted Egg
Divine! Need I repeat? D.I.V.I.N.E!
Yes, the chicken rice by Bu Oki is definitely one of the best kinds you can actually find in Bali. The portion was satisfying. The chicken was amazingly fragrant and humbly delicious. With the balinese vegetables and sides completed with bold spicy (hot) broth, I just couldn’t have enough. Everything on the plate was perfectly fine with the right amount of spices and ingredients. It made me realize that this was exactly one of the main reasons I loved coming to Bali so much. The delicious balinese food and the surprises!
I completely forgot to take note regarding the price. But do not worry! One portion of this (with the salted egg and a bottle of mineral water) was only about IDR 30 k!
I think I just need not to explain more as the more I explain, the more you will frown and think about how dramatic I am. But seriously, I whole-heartedly suggest you to have a try at one of the Ibu Oki’s outlets.
Warung Ibu Oki has a couple of outlets, such as in Jimbaran, Kuta and some others I might not know. But the ones that I have visited are the ones at Nusa Dua and Jimbaran.
