Bavarian Goodness & Frühlingfest Bier at Paulaner Brauhaus.

Spring is here and Paulaner Brauhaus, is celebrating the start of the spring by brewing 1000 litres of a heady creation called Fruhlingfest bier.

The Frühlingfest bier is brewed using the same traditional recipe that Paulaner monks has used for hundreds of years ago, back when they created the beer as nutritious supplement for their fasting during Lent (Lent is said to be a solemn religious observance in the Christian liturgical calendar that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends approximately six weeks later, before Easter Sunday).

The high quality and distinctively good taste of the special brew did not only keep high morale amongst the monks, but also inspired young and old to new heights. Despite this, the monks were officially obliged to serve the beer only after Regent Prince Karl Theodor had tried it. He was immediately convinced and approved a sample in 1780. Fast forward to date, this tradition is kept alive, with the first sample of beer reserved for the Prime Minister of Bavaria.

Meanwhile, here in Indonesia, Paulaner Brauhaus Jakarta’s brewmaster Arie Susanto has recreated the brew with devotion, care and years of experience.  The result is an especially malty taste with fine balance of sweetness and fruity flavours, making it a delicious speciality an ideal and enjoyable goodness at the restaurant.

Did you know?
Arie Susanto has a nickname from peers and it’s “the beer doctor”. He plenned to study at medical school before switching his major to beer engineering at Technische Universitat Munchen in Germany. At that moment, Susanto was the only Indonesian to study the subject and eventually became the only one in the world to be a professional brewmaster. Susanto has not always been a beer lover, but eversince finding his vocation, he has developed a taste for it.

Launched starting from 30th March 2017, this limited edition beer will be available until the last drop is finished. Early birds will be rewarded with truly authentic beer with hundreds of years of history and tradition behind it!

Meanwhile, at the same opportunity, I would like to share some of my luscious experience in dining in at Paulaner Brauhaus!

You must have known about Paulaner’s infamous Pork Knuckles, unless you’re living under a rock. Jokes aside, apparently, Paulaner Brauhaus has plentu more to offer for your fine tastebuds.

Check it out!

# Pork Belly (IDR 900 k++)

Pork belly for your whole family! Humongous in size, this Porchetta-styled Pork Belly is perfect for 6 people! From the very first cut, I could heard the crispy crackling skin and actually, even smell the inviting roasted skin aroma.

The best part of it is indeed its crackling skin, combined with its juicy belly that I could snack all day! I’m perfectly sure that this would be the party pleaser.

My advice: Preorder the day before and you are guarantee a satisfying feast.

# PORK BBQ NIGHT
This is a special Tuesday offer for dinner only.

You can enjoy 2 delicious options (both are irresistible!).
Pork Ribs (IDR 250 k++) or Chicken Wings (IDR 175 k++) and both comes with special BBQ sauce.

I truly loved the sauce, which brought out the sweet tangent, spicy and sour sensation to the pork ribs and chicken wings! The Pork Ribs tho’ is KING! It’s super tender and the meat easily fell off from the bones. The BBQ marinate was infused inside the pork ribs and it just left me wanting for more. If I could be the judge for the evening, I would simply rank this Pork Ribs second, slightly behind the ALMIGHTY PORK BELLY above!

Join Paulaner Bräuhaus every Tuesday (Dinner Only) to indulge yourself in this goodness, and of course with glasses of beer!

PAULANER QUICK LUNCH!!!

A great great news is that Paulaner Bräuhaus actually has the best deal for Paulaner Quick Lunch.

We tried all 5 dishes and I could say that all those 5 dishes were ranging from good to amazing!

# Sauteed Chicken stripes “Zurich Style”
(Sautéed chicken stripes with vegetables in creamy mushroom sauce and jasmine rice)

For people who MUST EAT steamed rice for every meal, this is for you. A sauteed version of chicken stripes and vegetables, drenched in generous creamy and butter mushroom sauce. Served with fragrant steamed Jasmine rice).

# Chicken Cordon Bleu
(Served with French fries and vegetables)

Don’t underestimate this Chicken Cordon Bleu, which, I have to admit, looks lame in my lens. The taste though, It screamed luscious melted cheese inside with juicy chicken meat! I really forgot to take the picture of the inside, which was much more appetising! This is very recommended!

# Grilled “Vienna” Cheese Krainer
(Served with homemade potato salad)

If you haven’t tried the Vienna Cheese Krainer here, you must! It must look like not much on the plate, but hey, these trio viennas are packed with plenty of flavours. The side, which is homemade potato salad, was the one that balanced it as the carbs.

# Paulaner Lunch Platter
(Nuernberger sausage, vienna sausage, crispy knuckel, pork loin served with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut)

This Paulaner Lunch Platter might be the best deal amongst these 5. It has everything! From the Crispy Knuckle, Pork Loin, Vienna Sausage and Nuernberger sausage. What more can you ask?

# Gipsy Schitzel
(Breaded pork tenderloin with potato wedges and spicy bell pepper sauce)

With the same outer texture with Cordon Bleu, this is another goodness, but with gorgeous pork tenderloin. The thing with pork tenderloin, it is really good effortlessly. And Paulaner just made it even better. The Spicy Bell Pepper Sauce was dayum!

Just don’t miss any of the offers above! Come Tuesday for BBQ night, or come weekdays during lunchtime to enjoy the pleasing quick lunch. OR, even better, just come anyday for their food and beer, especially the PORK BELLY and you’ll be guaranteed a blissful feast.
