Last Awesome Lunch in #2015 at Seminyak Kitchen, Courtyard by Marriott

Dear Bali,

I hate you. For being so captivating, so beautiful in its way that draws me over and over again.
I hate you, for being that far away, and for being the island that makes sure nobody will forget.
I hate you, for being the paradise on earth, vividly engraved in the corner of my mind and I can’t concentrate at work, screaming for another visit to the island.

Sincerely Yours,
Me, the man who can’t concentrate at work

Enough for my love letter. I am all heartbroken now and I need some drinks.

____

Anyway, I am going to post about a restaurant in Bali, called Seminyak Kitchen.
Located inside the Courtyard by Marriott – Seminyak, Seminyak Kitchen is one heck of a tiny hidden paradise for foodies. During my last visit to the goddess island, I got to visit the restaurant and had a try for the gorgeous food there.

Courtyard by Marriott itself is actually an enchanting hotel located right in the heart of Seminyak, which is very famous for its more high-end vibe with many gorgeous restaurants nearby. The property consists of 287 designer rooms and suites overlooking either the lively Seminyak streets or the sexy lagoon pool with a swim-up pool bar. To top that, you can easily enjoy the facility here like dining in the Seminyak Kitchen, enjoying yourself at Zanti the Retreat, or pump up some muscles at the 24-hour Fitness Centre.

Let’s talk about Seminyak Kitchen.

My visit was somehow, memorable, especially since my visit was on Dec 31, 2016. Oh yeah, Happy New Year again! 😉

The interior is actually pretty simple, with mostly wooden panelling and decoration. You know, the classy minimalist kind that shines majorly in simplicity.

The outdoor seating is more of a laid-back area, where you can enjoy the sunny day, and the wind breeze.

Seminyak Kitchen also has private meeting room, where you can carter for some private events or business meetings.

In this visit, I was accompanied by three fun companions, two of them are Natasha – YummyTraveler and Je – Caramelle On Top. So, of course, it turned out to be an awesome and fun lunch!

The lunch started strong with some sexy drinks! Let’s just check it out.

# Papa Colada (IDR 50 k)

Consisted of pineapple juice, pineapple chunk, hazelnut syrup, coconut milk and red cherry, this drink was my instant favourite. The tropical vibe was presently there with its refreshing twist. It perfectly suited the ambience much!

# Sunset (IDR 50 k)

Consisted of orange juice, fresh peach, grenadine syrup and fresh pears, the beverage didn’t disappoint either. The sweet and zesty orange juice and fresh peach did really good in lighting up the mood.

# Tamarind Splash (IDR 50 k)

This beverage consists of tamarind juice, mint leaves and soda water. This is Nat’s choice. I didn’t try it, but it looked refreshing!

# Mamajo (IDR 50 k)

This beverage consists of lime wedges, mint leave, sugar syrup, lime juice, 7Up. The zesty sensation meets the sparkling sensation! It’s Je’s choice!

# Garlic Panini (IDR 55 k)

This toasted panini with garlic herb butter is a typical pleaser for the starter.

# Salt & Pepper Squid (IDR 80 k)

My lovely! I loved this munchies that much! This is a portion of battered squids, deep-fried and seasoned with salt and pepper then served with lemon and caper mayonnaise. The crunchiness of the squid was spot on and it left some textures in the mouth, along with the seasoning. Dip it with the mayo and, you won’t stop munching.

# Signature Nasi Campur (IDR 95 k)

You are not in Bali if you haven’t tried the infamous Nasi Campur. In Seminyak Kitchen, they serve this obvious option and upgraded it with their own awesomeness. The Nasi Campur is consisted of steamed rice, ayam baker (grilled chicken), satay lilit (balinese skewer), telur balado (boiled egg in balado chili), udang bumbu bali (balinese-sauced prawns), rendang sapi (beef rendang), rap (mixed vegetable with sweet shredded coconut meat), samble mbeh (mbeh chili? I’m confused myself), and fried peanut. The overall taste was awesome, and superb. I especially loved the beef rendang, which was very rich in spices and the balinese-sauced prawns, which was super fragrant. Oh, the chicken was really good too! A must-try!

# Coconut Chicken Curry (IDR 125 k)

This is gluten free! Yes, in Seminyak Kitchen, there are several menus with gluten free options. This is one of those and it was good! I loved the coconut curry. It tasted quite light, not overwhelming but still rich in the overall taste. Look at that fragrant green curry in the picture. <3

# Ikan Bakar Seminyak (IDR 165 k)

Another delicious menu, depending on Catch of The Day, the whole fish is oven roasted, topped with kafir lime and accompanied with the infamous sambal matah and steamed rice. The fish we had was delicious, and it was very well-seasoned and had silky smooth texture thanks to excellent grilling technique. Squeeze the kafir lime and enjoy it with the fragrant sambal matah. You will thank me later! 😛

# Signature Bloody Mary Burger (IDR 125 k)

BLOODY good! It might look very ordinary, but the taste of the burger was nothing ordinary! The ground beef patty was absolutely scrumptious, with strong hint of Worcestershire and tabasco sauce. The goodness didn’t end there. Stacked with melting cheddar cheese, bacon, tomato tapenade and cracked black pepper, the Bloody Mary Burger was complete! Major YUM!

Oh, trust me, we were pretty full at the end of the lunch and couldn’t go further with anything else. The lunch was pretty much a success and I was officially in love with Seminyak Kitchen. One more reason to fly here to Bali and stroll around Seminyak!

What about you? Feel tempted? If yes, whenever you have a holiday in Bali, have a walk in Seminyak and don’t forget to visit Seminyak Kitchen. Or even better, stay here at Courtyard by Marriott. I heard the hotel room is real lovely!
