Some of the recent findings involve quite a long distance. Like this place in South Tangerang area, where you can indulge in various street food dishes, from Indomie creations to Fried Tofu and everything with salted egg sauce!
The place is named Warung Teduh by SRA, and guess what? It’s co-owned by Indonesian celebrities and basketball players, Samuel Rizal and Abrar Adrian. Ring a bell? ;D
Well, I’m glad I visited this place. Physically, the place is nothing extraordinary. It’s located in Ciputat area, standing as a shop house, with clean & minimalist interior. Never judge a book by its cover. Warung Teduh knows what they’re doing with their food and drink creations. The girl behind all the delicious goodness is Listya!
Warung Teduh by SRA is opened starting from 11 AM everyday, providing hearty humble lunch and various snacks. If you are lucky, you might meet either Samuel or Abrar, or even both! Parking space is pretty convenient, so don’t worry about parking issue.
Let’s dive deep with their delicious food and drinks.
# Drinks
There are many choices of drinks here, starting from their refreshing Thai Tea (IDR 12k), Milo (IDR 15k), Chocolate (IDR 15k), Green Tea Ice Blend (IDR 15k), Ice Caramel (IDR 16.5k), Yakut Sunshine Ice Blend (IDR 18k) and Taro Ice Blend (IDR 15k).
Everything is more or less good to great. My personal recommendation? Thai Tea, which is ice blended, and super refreshing Yakult Sunshine Ice Blend. The Taro Blend is also great by the way.
# Tahu Goreng Teduh BBQ (IDR 15 k) & Tahu Goreng Teduh Sambal Matah (IDR 17 k)
The signature party pleaser is their fried tofu. There are a couple of options for this Tahu Goreng Teduh. We tried the BBQ and the Sambal Matah. BBQ option adds a powdery BBQ flavour to the 4 fried tofu balls, while the Sambal Matah option adds house-made spicy balinese chili called Sambal Matah to the 4 fried tofu balls. My favourite is of course Sambal Matah since it just complemented the deep crispy tofu so well, I could eat it all day. The spiciness, the lemongrass fragrant flavour and delicious shallots just made it on a par with a restaurant dish.
# Roti Bakar Cheese & Smoked Beef (IDR 18 k)
A traditional savoury toast with good old cheese and smoked beef. Put some extra chili sauce and you’re done.
# Pizza Bread (IDR 22 k)
If you’re a pizza fan, this is definitely for you! A combination of bread, sausage and generous amount of melted cheese! Look at the gorgeous picture, the cheese is calling! 😉
# Indomie Rebus Milk & Cheese (IDR 18 k)
Everybody seems to make this as a crowd fav, and I agree. The combination of milk, cheese, and with the instant noodles makes it so enjoyable and when serves hot, it becomes a hearty and comfort food.
Recommendation: Best eaten when hot and when the weather is raining.
# Indomie Goreng Telur Asin (IDR 15 k)
Winner! I love this so much, and I think fried instant noodle and salted egg sauce are a match made in heaven. Tried a couple of versions and Warung Teduh is amongst the better version! The salted egg sauce was spot on and added more layers of flavours to the already good indomie goreng.
# Nasi Chicken Popcorn Salted Egg (IDR 25 k)
Just really, everything here with salted egg is just real good. Listya really knows how to make the right salted egg sauce, without compromising its savoury (umami) taste and texture. With steamed rice, the crispy chicken popcorn with generous salted egg turned out to be simply delicious!
# Nasi Goreng Kampoeng (IDR 25 k)
This FRIED RICE WAS SO GOOD! You can always judge a restaurant/cafe by its fried rice and Warung Teduh nailed it! The fried rice was good, enough to make me want it for more and the additional chicken popcorn, fried egg and crackers were making it even better. If you have no idea what to order in Warung Teduh by SRA, my first advice is order this Nasi Goreng Kampung!
# Oreo Cheesylicious (IDR 20 k)
Dessert time calls for sweet toasts! This is the newest creation by Listya and it was definitely mouth-watering. Look at those generous cheese sprinkles, oreo and condensed milk!
# Choco Lava Cake (IDR 18 k)
Perhaps the cheapest Choco Lava Cake you can find in Jakarta, but somehow, taste-wise it was pretty good. The melted lava inside was flawless and the cooked part of the cake was soft and delicious.
Oh, I also tried their Roti Bakar Nutella!
And their Tahu Goreng aka fried tofu with Salted Egg!
Overall, the experience was pretty uplifting. The food and drinks were pretty much satisfying and they come with affordable prices. The only wish I have is that Warung Teduh by SRA should open in Jakarta so it would be closer to my area! 😉
So, if you’re living in South Tangerang or happen to be around the area, don’t forget to visit Warung Teduh by SRA! For first-timers, please order their Indomie Goreng Telur Asin, Nasi Goreng Kampung, Tahu Goreng Teduh with Sambal Matah and Choco Lava Cake! I guarantee you a happy tummy.
