I just revisited Branche Bistro again in Senopati area very recently. It’s been a while since I came here the last time and I know that Branche has some good food, so I was excited to come back and had some good meal!
The place itself is always nice with vintage-ish interior and lots of glass panel that makes the place looks instagenic!
The first floor has a bar at the center and if you’d like to unwind after office hours, it would be a great idea to come to Branche.
Let’s check the food out!
# Authentic Tuscan Chicken with Pesto (IDR 95k)
So this dish was the one that really caught my eyes. Honestly, it looked amazing, with the pastry twist & baked potato on top and the chicken looked super creamy with the pesto sauce. What I tasted then was what I expected, a super tender chicken with creamy and light pesto sauce. The baked potato and pastry twist added texture change to balance the tenderness and I liked!
# Classic Mac n Cheese (IDR 89 k)
Also another fail-proof dish, it certainly didn’t catch my eyes like The Tuscan Chicken did. Afterall, I considered Mac n Cheese is always an overrated dish that everyone seems to enjoy. But I was underestimating the Mac n Cheese here apparently! The Mac n Cheese at Branche was pretty spot on, with the al dente pasta and not overwhelmingly generous amount of cheese. The richness was present and the portion given was just right too! I loved the truffle oil twist!
# Banh Mi Chicken (IDR 65 k)
Branche has Asian dishes too and here comes Banh Mi Chicken and Nasi Salmon Pepes next! The Bahn Mi Chicken, to be honest, was the weak link here. It was pretty simple and taste-wise, it was an okay. Compared to the other 3 great main courses, it didn’t give me any surprise factor. It just tasted a bit flat for me.
# Nasi Salmon Pepes (IDR 95 k)
This Nasi Salmon Pepes on the other hand, surprised me with its exploding taste. Turned out the Pepes we’ve all known, can be elevated to something even better, and the use of salmon was not just a gimmick! It actually tasted so delicious, with a taste of a sea breeze and hearty herbs combined!
# Choux A la Tiramisu (IDR 50 k)
This one tasted as fun as it looks!
It’s actually a plate of pastry choux with mascarpone filling, finished with cocoa powder and icing sugar. The combination of mascarpone, some cocoa and icing sugar made it tasted slightly like a deconstructed version of tiramisu.
# Es Teler Panna Cota (IDR 50 k)
Also another good one that day, the panna cota was unique and tasted festive just like es teler. The pandan panna cota had good texture. It was jiggly and fragrant, and the additional jackfruit, grass jelly and palm sugar sauce made it very es teler-esque. =P
Oh I was so full that day and somehow, most of the dishes still tasted great. It reflected how Branche Bistro is actually a restaurant that takes its food seriously and not just a bar that sells food! I think this place is perfect for you and friends that love to hang out or maybe just chill after long and tiring work hours! ❤
