Ho ho, all! It’s Christmas and I wish you have a wonderful little Christmas this year!
I’m just always excited when it comes to Christmas. It’s the best time of the year for me, the one that I anticipate for each and every year. I am so sad it’s ending soon! Well, to be a glass-half-full, we have another sort-of-365 days more to celebrate another Christmas, and I will be counting days starting tomorrow! 😀
Anyway, I want to write a little something for the Christmas, and it’s about Krispy Kreme, my personal favourite doughnut joint.
Well, who doesn’t know about Krispy Kreme? Many have known about the name and many have known too when it comes to doughnut creation, Krispy Kreme is the best! How’s not? Every special occasion, Krispy Kreme participates in making things merrier and more festive with its cute shape, based on the special occasions. This time, to celebrate a joyful December and Christmas day, Krispy Kreme comes again with the doughnuts with the shape of Snow Man! It’s too damn cute and not to mention, how good it tastes with its mouth-watering filling. Not only that, the other two companion, a ring doughnut with white chocolate coating and colourful sprinkles, and a stuffed doughnut with chocolate coating and a touch of sugar icing.
Taste-wise, in my humble opinion, Krispy Kreme had upped their game and now, a better doughnut joint. It used to be complained by customers when it came to the sweetness level. Many considered their doughnuts were a tad too sweet. But for me, the doughnuts are so good now, with even sweetness and fluffy texture. The filling and icing are greatly crafted, making Krispy Kreme my favourite doughnut joint in Jakarta!
Anyway, for an introduction to the festive season, Krispy Kreme took some awesome foodies and me for a bit of a show-down with its short background information and a chance to decorate our own doughnuts! It was really exciting to see the expert did the swift decoration, and it’s even more exciting for us to decorate the doughnuts ourselves.
After a struggle, I managed to not make a whole mess and came up with these funny and somehow clueless decorations, but I am proud of myself! HAHA. Hold your laughter!
Anyway, soon after all foodies finished decorating their own doughnuts, judging time was up! And I am proudly saying that I got into the big five! See! (well, I highly doubted the judges’ eyes since I am pretty sure my doughnuts were terribly terrible). 😛 But, the other four foodies were really awesome, making their own creations pretty neat and cool-looking with creative ideas behind them. 🙂
In the end, the event was really quite fun. The doughnut decorating session was the most fun and every body just seemed to be enjoying themselves. Me myself, loved this kind of event and definitely loved the doughnuts.
Even the price of the doughnuts is slightly more expensive than the competitors, I do think it’s just deserving.
Oh, to add some more, Krispy Kreme does serve drinks in their cafes. I did try their latte (completed with latte art!) and chocolate and I just loved them. Imagine eating doughnuts with a cup of hot latte as companion. Who does not love it?
Note: Krispy Kreme has many outlets in Jakarta. What I am reviewing right now is located in Grand Indonesia. Oh, and pardon the not so good-looking and red-ish picture. My camera couldn’t handle the red-ish lighting inside the cafe 🙁
All in all, MERRY CHRISTMAS, beautiful folks! 🙂
