I visited Locale Diner just recently with my fam. It wasn’t the first time as we actually had visited it twice before. I just never reviewed this place somehow due to its bad lighting that made me reluctant in taking pictures.
But in this visit, I noticed that their lighting had been improved, and suddenly, I could have better visual inside.
We were quickly seated in the non-smoking area (they did ask), and we were given the menu books. We quickly decided what to order and ordered what we loved in the previous visit.

# Bolognese French Fries (IDR 42 k)
Big fat french fries topped with gorgeous bolognese and melted cheese can never fail. It’s always suitable for a good starter! The bolognese sauce here was lovely and rich in texture.
# Beef Burger (IDR 62 k)
I will never say no with crazy thick beef patties in between a soft bun! As cliche as it sounds, the beef burger did not fail to impress me. I loved the juicy flavourful beef patty. It’s thick and generous in portion. With some veggie, onion rings, and a hint of barbecue sauce, this burger did a heck of a job in satisfying my belly!
# Honey Pepper Chicken and Shrimp (IDR 62 k)
Look at that sexy chicken. Grilled to perfection, the chicken was glazed with generous barbecue sauce. The chicken was overall good, but for some people (my sister, for example), the barbecue sauce was considered a bit too much and resulted in an overwhelming pungent flavour. Oh, almost forgot! The crispy fried shrimps were awesome!
# Diner Styles Waffles (IDR 42 k)
My all time favourite! If I have to list the top three places that sell super good waffle/pancake, Locale will easily be in it. I always love their pancakes and (especially) their waffles. The waffles were super crispy on the outside with obvious rich layer inside. Topped with smooth vanilla ice cream, some fresh fruits with butter, honey and nutella goodness, the waffle did transform into the highest form of entity! Pardon my exaggeration, but I bet you can now imagine how good it is for me! <3
All in all, the food by Locale is always about comfort food. They make things easy and it’s like a diner where you can actually come everyday (if you can afford it!) and enjoy the food and drinks like an american. If you dislike western food, they have local asian food such as nasi campur or even pork sambal matah ala balinese.
Well, if you haven’t paid Locale a visit, I suggest you do. I personally found the venue cozy and suitable for my daily craving. For dinner either with friends or family, Locale can provide you easiness in your dining moments.
Price-wise, it’s slightly above the average, especially for the drinks that mostly seem to be above IDR 30k. For a seemingly casual restaurant, they should actually lower the pricing slightly to adjust with locals’ standard.
