Okay, I know it’s quite weird to go to Bali and have chinese noodles. But honestly, we were running out of options that time (it was early in the morning) and we were really hungry. It happened that this casual simple diner was near, and our hungry tummies spoke. So we just headed for the place, and there we were.
It was a small diner called Mie 88. The place was an ordinary attached-house, and it looked okay but somehow, it was inviting. After reading the menu book, it appeared that they didn’t only serve noodles, but it also served fried noodles, rice or rice noodles, porridges, soups and a lot of choices for chinese cuisines. The prices were decent too for the time. But since it’s called Mie 88, it’s only right if we ordered the noodles.
# Iced Young Coconut (IDR 13 k)
The young coconut was great and it was really refreshing with the extra lime.
The ‘Mie Spesial 88’ was lovely. I loved the bouncy texture of the noodles, and the minced meat and the mushroom were perfect complements for the noodles. It had this salty and sweet balance and it made a good breakfast!
I really think we did make a good decision in visiting this place. The noodles were great and I really think Mie 88 deserves more crowds. It is perfect for a quick meal and the food is affordable.
