When it comes to a question about one of the best Italian restaurants in Jakarta, Ristorante da Valentino will just instantly pop up in my mind!
Originally from Singapore, this restaurant guarantees to please your Italian cuisine craving, from pasta, pizza to panini! And yes, my last visit here was totally all about those 3 P(s). Let me share my two-cents here starting with their drool-worthy appetizers.
# Affettati Misti (IDR 275k)
For those who fancy cold cuts, this is totally for you. This platter is consisted of soprasatta, salami, pancetta & mortadella ham.
# Calamari Fritti (IDR 140k)
This one is absolutely one of my fav of the day. The calamari fritters were absolutely delicious. They’re all deep fried to perfection and the spicy tomato sauce is to die for!
# Panini (IDR 100k)
There are several options of panini that you can choose. From the Grilled Chicken With Arrabiata sauce, Tuna Mayonnaise with Onion and Chili, Mortadella Ham with Tomato, Mozzarella & Rocket Salad and last, Scarmoza Cheese with Sauteed Mushroom & Arrabiata Sauce.
My personal favs are the Mortadella Ham aandmd the Scarmoza Cheese! Both panini were rich in flavor but remained light enough for my tummy.
# Linguini al Nero di Seppia (S: IDR 185k and L: IDR 280k)
This pasta is linguine with chopped squid and cooked in the traditional squid ink sauce. The result was this balance of rich umami flavor from the squid ink and creamy texture that made me happy while looking funny with my teeth and lips all covered in black. When you order this, remind yourself to always wipe your mouth clean before speaking to someone else. Or whatever, you can actually have a good selfie with your messy mouth, it’s worth it. 🤣
# Fettuccine al Granchio (S: IDR 135k and L: IDR 235k)
The ultimate pasta for me! This Fettuccine is gold, it’s super good, and even better than the previous one. It’s also a squid inked pasta (fettuccine) with spicier taste becauze it’s wrapped with creamy tomato sauce with crab meat. Too good!
# Bismark (IDR 175k)
Pizza with crispy pork bacon and soft half-cooked eggs! Probably everyone’s favorite that day. The crispy pork bacon screamed for the attention and it tasted divine! If you’re in doubt of what to order here, choose this!
# Margherita (IDR 130k)
The classic pizza, with tomato, oregano and mozzarella! It tasted okay for me becauze it’s pretty basic, but the thin pizza crust is lovely. Oh, this pizza is a vegetarian pizza, so for you all who are vegetarian, welcome!
# Burrata (IDR 320k)
This pizza is also another Vegetarian pizza, consisted of only burrata, tomato and basil. This one will definitely be a love it or hate it menu. But if you love burrata, you will definitely love this!
Well, Ristorante da Valentino is definitely a gorgeous restaurant that can deliver great satisfaction when it comes to Italian food! Make sure you visit this place if you feel like having real Italian cuisine that will leave you wanting for more!
