Holaa! It’s surely been a long time since I last wrote anything at all! Anyway, I really hope you guys well during the pandemic! It’s been devastating but let’s just hope it will pass. Be strong guys and keep wearing mask!
Anyway, let’s just jump into the topic!
Here I am going to talk about one of Hangry’s brands, SAN GYU by Hangry! San Gyu is a brand who celebrates the essence of Authentic Japanese Gyudon with Trio Gyu, Don and Sai! They serve only 100% US Premium Beef and making it a twist of Indonesian Fusion! Oh, this is important, the price range is Rp 39k to 70k!
I had the opportunity to enjoy their three variants, Sambal Aburi Gyudon, Teriyaki Gyudon and Original Gyudon!
Truly a delight, the Sambal Aburi Gyudon is a great representation of a Japanese Indonesian fusion. It has both flavors, blended well together that feels really natural!
The beef is soft and tender, packed with umami flavor and a hint of smokiness. The sambal is what binds them all together, adding an Indonesian flair to the overall bowl!
Then we have Teriyaki Gyudon, an homage to the Japanese taste, dominated by a clear savouriness and a slight sweetness, put neutral by the ginger bits to balance the overall taste.
Last, the Original Gyudon. This bowl relies on the good taste and quality of 100% US Premium Beef. The flavors of spices are quite subtle, thus allowing the beef to shine.
If you asked me, San Gyu by Hangry is one of the bests, especially the Sambal Aburi Gyudon which clearly showcases what San Gyu thrives to be!
