The K-Food. Sinsa Ramyun.

One of the hippiest places to find food is definitely an area in the south called Kemang (just next to LIN Artisan Ice Cream). A few months ago, Sinsa Ramyun opened another outlet in this area and of course, I was excited to try the food here. So, here I was!

This outlet of Sinsa Ramyun is slightly different than the one in Muara Karang. The concept is focusing on Ramyun Bar, with more casual and relaxing vibe. Oh, and in this outlet, everything is halal!
There are two seating areas, indoor and outdoor. But the indoor area is very limited. I personally prefer the indoor area, which is more laid back, relaxing and chic-looking. There’s a small stage where in house DJs or live bands will play their music for patrons to listen. Lovely, ain’t it?

Love this favourite spot!

And this outdoor seating.

Sinsa Ramyun offers some choices of ramyun and toppings. In general, you get to choose between Galbi Ramyun and Kimchi Ramyun, with options of dry and soup version. If you don’t feel like having ramyun, rice dishes are available too!

For options of drinks, there are plenty to choose from. After all, the outlet here is well-focused on serving beverages, from standard drinks, to cocktails and beers! Let’s just check out what I had.

# Gangnam Oppa (IDR 42 k)

Since on my visit, Sinsa Ramyun was really newly-opened, most of the drinks were not available yet. We eventually chose the Gingham Oppa, recommended by the waiter (since we asked). It turned out to be pretty good and refreshing. Though it actually is pretty standard mocktail with soda and syrup, but good nonetheless!

# Korean Ice Latte (IDR 24 k)

Dunno what went wrong, the the Ice Latte was a bit too bitter.

# Ramen Fries (IDR 38 k) with cheese

There are two options for Ramen Fries (combination of crispy fries and crispy ramen stick). Cheese or seaweed. I chose mine with cheese. At first I thought that it would be with thick mozzarella or parmesan cheese, but when it was served, the cheese was actually powder cheese. So, it was a disappointment. I was wrong not to ask first though. Despite the expectation, the ramen fries was actually quite a snack. It was nice to munch in between enjoying the ramen.

# Kimchi Ramyun – Soup (Regular: IDR 44 k) with spicy chicken (IDR 18 k) and extra shoyu egg (IDR 10k)

For Kimchi Ramyun, they actually served two options by default, Kimchi Ramyun Dry with Spicy Chicken & Kicmhi Ramyun Soup with Beef Sausage. Since I wanted the Kimchi Ramyun Soup with Spicy Chicken, the waiter did say that I had to opt for “Make Your Own Ramyun” alternative.

In “Make Your Own Ramyun” section, we can actually pick what we want in a more detail way.
Basically, you select your ramyun at first, then select your topping (s). This way, the ramyun will be more expensive, but in exchange, you get to have the freedom to choose anything that you want.

I chose the regular size Kimchi Ramyun Dry (IDR 44 k), and added two toppings, Spicy Chicken (IDR 18 k) and Shoyu Egg (IDR 10 k). In total, it will cost around IDR 72 k. It turned out to be pretty nice, and I especially loved the bouncy curly noodle (like instant egg noodle, but more superior). If you love tangy flavour with zesty twist (just like kimchi!), this will be your fav. The spicy chicken was packed with flavours and tender. But one thing though, as we ate more, the taste and flavour became bolder and more tense (especially the spicy chicken), and by the time I finished it, I felt that it was a bit too much. Guess, it will be better if they can slightly tone down the seasoning to balance the overall taste.

# Galbi Ramyun – Dry with Beef Ribs (Regular: IDR 54 k)

By far, my personal favourite. To simplify it, this tasted more like instant noodle, but I did love it! The bouncy ramyun is no doubt, the best feature of the whole ramyun. But the galbi sauce made it delish, with extra punch from the flavourful beef ribs. If you love the softer version of this, you can opt to have the soup rendition. Guess it might be as good as this dry Galbi Ramyun!

There are many other menus to try again for the next visit. The tteobokki and korean dumpling are definitely in the list! Oh, they also serve fruit bingsoo now! <3

But for the final verdict, I honestly think that some is a hit (bullseye!) and some is a miss. The Dry Galbi Ramyun with Beef Ribs and Gangnam Oppa are the recommended ones. Ramen Fries was great too. But oh, if only I can have a say, IMHO, the portion of the ramyun was a bit small for my big stomach. Considering the price, I think they can add more noodles. For the topping, it was already more than enough. 🙂

As a hang out spot, I’m pretty sure Sinsa Ramyun Bar would be a perfect place. Enjoy cold beer and ramyun while socialising! They also have their house DJs play some good jam every saturday. Check their IG for more updates! 😉

So, when you are around the area, why don’t you give this ramyun bar a visit?;
