Personal Favourite, Bakmi Lamlo.

You might have known that I’m a serious noodle addict. Eversince, I was a little kid, my family had unconsciously started a habit of taking us to have some noodle breakfast/brunch every Sunday morning. Therefore, this noodle breakfast kind of moments is hard to miss. Not even a full time rehab can do anything about it. Blame my family! 😛

Since I’m such a noodle freak, I always look for some good noodle joints to have my breakfast every weekend. After looking at my own blog, I can’t believe I blogged very few about noodle joints! It’s a big slap in the face and now I have to remind myself to blog more about it.

Let me tell you something, it’s hard to beat the noodles in Medan, which are mostly from Siantar origin. Other than that, there are these Hokkian noodle (hokkien mie) and Khek noodle (bakmi khek). I’m all salivating here reminiscing about them.

Starting fresh, let me introduce you to my fav noodle joint, Bakmi Lamlo. A sort of a branch in Jakarta from the original joint in Medan (if you are medanese, you must know Bakmi Gandhi!). It is a family business, and they’re pretty much similar to the original joint in Medan.

What shines the most from this “bakmi” is that the bouncy and curly homemade noodle. It’s rather thick and chewy-ish at time. The other good things are of course the good old-fashioned chopped pork in sweet-based soy sauce and the marinated duck egg! Goodness overload!

Look at those orange appetizing yolks! It’s very flavorful since it’s marinated in a perfectly fine way. Family secret recipe of course!

As an added bonus, you gotta enjoy this noodle with the “bak yu phok” (crispy pork fat). I LOVE IT!

Bakmi Lamlo - Pantai Indah Kapuk

So far, it’s definitely one of the best noodle joints in Jakarta that I personally love. It might be a bit pricey, but well, you get what you pay. A big bowl of luscious noodle for about IDR 30 k. If you’re a Medanese like me, you’ll know what I’m talking about. ☺

Go there and give them a try! They currently have two outlets in Jakarta. One in Pantai Indah Kapuk and the other one in Muara Karang.
