I’m so excited to write this post as I would love to share my staycation experience at the first Yello Hotel in Jakarta.
This hotel is perfectly located in the busy area, Harmoni and is a true gem since it’s located in the same building with Harmoni Exchange (HXC) and Harris Vertu. Shopping and dining will be much easier since you can always drop by HXC and have your lunch or dinner at one of the tenants in HXC, from Ta Wan, Mama Melaka, Mokka, etc. Even better, you can actually dine in Wok ‘n’ Tok, the all day dining restaurant in Yello Hotel.
Yello Hotel is a stylish 3-star hotel, positioning itself as economic hotel for trendy and outgoing travellers and also the Big Kids. Yello Hotel itself is utilising a modern and chic design with a touch of street art all over the corners, and of course dominating the area with energetic yellow paint. Yello Hotel here is equipped with 372 unique Yello rooms and 9 meeting rooms.
Well, let’s talk more about my staycation.
It was in January when I stayed here and it was at the weekend. I went to Yello Hotel and went up to 7th floor for checking in. The check in process was smooth, and it only required my ID card for a brief moment. I requested a higher room and twin beds. Request granted and I was excited.
Oh, before going to the guest room, let’s talk about the 7th floor. The 7th floor is where the receptionists process the check in. On the 7th floor, it’s also designed for Big Kids. How’s not? It has Wok ‘n’ Tok, Fitness Centre, Chill Spot Lounge, Gaming Station (equipped with Xbox and Soccer Table!) and NetZone area (equipped with one iMac per table)! The gaming station is really popular amongst all types of guests, from children to middle-aged people.
View is pretty amazing from this floor, especially from Wok ‘n’ Tok’s outdoor area where you can see the busy street below.
Our room was located on the 16th floor, and the view was the wide landscape of Jakarta with a glimpse of Indonesia’s National Monument (Monas). The room itself is surprisingly pretty spacious for a 3-star hotel, and besides the twin beds, it manages to efficiently place a comfortable simple couch (or bench) and working desk.
What’s in the room?
The room itself is equipped with Flat-screened TV, safety box, hot water maker, small chiller, and complimentary bottled water. Wireless internet is available in every room.
During our leisure time, we did go to HXC Shopping Mall and grabbed some drinks and dinner. The sleep at night was great and the room was quiet without much disturbance from the street. Bed was comfy and the room temperature could be adjusted to our liking.
The breakfast we had at Wok ‘n’ Tok was pretty good. The station in the centre of the room was efficient and we were provided with more than enough choices, from cereal, porridge, soup, fried rice, some asian dishes, and western selections such as sausages and omelette.
The outdoor is rather great! Beware as the wind blows pretty hard here, but that’s what I like the most here. 😉
The cooking station is here and there were plenty of choices for guests to enjoy.
I love to go wild when it comes to hotel breakfast. =P
